VFD Chillers & Green Refrigerants  

‘Diversity’ is synonymous with today’s world for existence. It is even more profound, in the recent years of Pandemic for evolution. Whatever subject we take up, this particular word takes its rightful place in that topic. Even in today’s modern buildings, with versatile architecture, be it IT parks, Data Centres, Hospitals, Shopping Malls cum Multiplex & Mixed-use applications have experienced the sense of Diversity in their building and varying Air Conditioning load profiles throughout the year. Research have shown that the factors affecting the variation on the AC load profile of these buildings are majorly the Changing environmental conditions & the progressive Human Capital Index. (instead mentioned as occupancy)

To capture the diversified AC demand of the modern buildings in a sustainable manner , various national and International organizations like ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating  & Air conditioning Engineers), ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers), IGBC (Indian Green Building Council), USGBC (United States Green Building Council), CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) have indexed certain guidelines which the Government of respective Countries are legislating through their policies. In Climaveneta, we uphold the need of Diversification to such an extent, that our Energy Efficient VFD Chillers comes with multiple compressors, in independent circuit to enable the optimization of efficiency at part load conditions and in enhancing uptime. This diversity/flexibility concept of the compressors benefits in profitability for the users by allowing the Chiller plant to run with an Efficiency gain of 10-15%, particularly at part load conditions.

‘Inclusion’ proliferates its roots in sustainability through reduction of greenhouse gases measured by the parameters, Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) and Global Warming Potential (GWP). This has a direct impact on the planet we live in. Climaveneta envisages this impact on the planet and hence aims through an all-round approach at reducing the Total Equivalent Warming Impact (TEWI), by tackling simultaneously both global warming, caused by refrigerant adopted, and indirectly caused by energy consumption of the unit. The G05 range (R513A refrigerant) is a viable alternative to R134a, for screw compressors. This refrigerant is a mixture of R1234yf (56%) and R134a (44%), non-toxic and non-flammable (Class A1 of ASHRAE 34, ISO 817), which guarantees a 56% reduction in GWP compared to R134a. The G06 range (R454B refrigerant), for Scroll compressors, with GWP 76% lower than its predecessor R410A and 10% reduced refrigerant charge offers the best trade-off between minimizing environmental impact and optimal energy usage.

The flagship of the green refrigerant family are the HFOs (Hydrofluoroolefin), or fourth-generation refrigerants, which have ODP values of zero and negligible GWP (<1). HFO 1234ze refrigerant replaces R134a, with near-zero GWP and atmospheric shelf life of just 2 weeks, compared to the 14 years of R134a, thus making a perfect alternative to HFC refrigerants.
